As many of you know, George Floyd was wrongfully and brutally murdered by police officers on Monday, May 25, 2020 in Minneapolis. We continue to mourn his death and the many others that we have lost to racism, police brutality, white supremacy, and deep systemic issues that plague our nation’s history. As we demand justice for Mr. Floyd, we are reminded that it is up to all of us, as a collective force, to incite real change. We can no longer stay silent and act as bystanders; it is time to speak up and against the injustices that we see in this country and around the world.

Cardinal Pictures stands in solidarity with Black students and all those involved in the #BlackLivesMatter movement. We stand with Black artists, creators, and voices who need to be seen and heard now. Cardinal Pictures is a part of the Wesleyan creative community, a community that has benefited greatly from Black culture and the work of Black students. Now is the time to act and stand with them. Please consider donating to and sharing any of these organizations and resources; this is the most immediate way of directly helping and showing support to Black communities and those who are protesting. We urge you to search up your own local bail funds and to donate there too. In your own circles, take this chance to spread awareness, have conversations, and share pertinent information. We all can and should do our part to make the change we want to see in the world. Stay safe, stay active, and please do something.
